Though obscure, Sobh Qarib Iranian brings together a group of IRGC officers and right-wing clerics whose interests range from high politics to helicopter and pasta production.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Sobh Qarib Iranian Network<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"flourish-embed flourish-hierarchy\" data-src=\"visualisation\/1930610\" data-url=\"https:\/\/flo.uri.sh\/visualisation\/1930610\/embed\"><script src=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/resources\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sobh Qarib Iranian Foundation was founded by the family of <strong>Hassan Tehrani Moqaddam<\/strong>, the creator of Iran\u2019s ballistic missile program, following his 2011 death in an explosion at a military base in Iran. Rezaei, a close friend of Moghaddam, became the\u00a0 foundation\u2019s board chairman in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a magazine and news website, Sobh Qarib Iranian syndicates most of its content from Tabnak News. It also dedicates much of its editorial space to promoting regime propaganda and the teachings of Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. About one-third of its content comprises opinion pieces about Rezaei.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The source of Sobh Qarib Iranian finances is not available in public records. However, its alignment with Rezaei suggests that it, like his news website Tabnak, is publicly funded.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGovernment and private organizations and institutions are not obligated, but are permitted, to offer financial and moral support,\u201d Sobh Qarib Iranian\u2019s CEO Seyyed Reza Mirzadeh told Tabnak in a 2015<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tabnak.ir\/fa\/news\/526370\/%D8%A8%D9%86%DB%8C%D8%A7%D8%AF-%D9%81%D8%B1%D9%87%D9%86%DA%AF%DB%8C-%D8%B5%D8%A8%D8%AD-%D9%82%D8%B1%DB%8C%D8%A8-%DA%86%D9%87-%D9%81%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%84%DB%8C%D8%AA%DB%8C-%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%AF\"> interview<\/a>. He described the organization as an Interior Ministry-accredited NGO with offices in the cities of Saveh, Ilam, Kermanshah and Isfahan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mirzadeh added the organization also had an Iraq branch, Defenders of the Holy Shrines, which undertook \u201cpositive activities\u201d and was \u201ctraining a group of young educated individuals who have capacity to accept major [public service] responsibilities in the future.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sobh Qarib Iranian also collaborates with various charities and cultural organizations, including Tehran Municipality Cultural Directorate and Iraq\u2019s Cultural center in Tehran, according to Mirzadeh.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Complete Network of Mohsen Rezaei<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"flourish-embed flourish-hierarchy\" data-src=\"visualisation\/2121905\" data-url=\"https:\/\/flo.uri.sh\/visualisation\/2121905\/embed\"><script src=\"https:\/\/public.flourish.studio\/resources\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Individuals Connected to Rezaei via this Foundation Include:\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ali Tehrani Moqaddam<\/strong>, nephew of ballistic missile program designer Hassan, who has served as the CEO, Board Chairman and Board Member of Sobh Qarib Iranian Foundation. His other business interests are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Board Chairman of Electro Tadbir Co (LTD), which according to its articles of incorporation manages electricity projects, carries out miscellaneous trade activities, import-export and packaging<\/li><li>Sadaf Talaei Qeshm Trade Services, an import-export company registered on Qeshm Island, where tax laws are more lax<\/li><li>Board Member of\u00a0Shohadaye Ghadir Enqelab Institute, a publishing house and a multimedia production <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mashreghnews.ir\/news\/570529\/%D8%A7%D9%86%D8%AA%D9%82%D8%A7%D8%AF-%DB%8C%DA%A9-%D9%85%D8%B3%D8%A6%D9%88%D9%84-%D8%A7%D8%B2-%D8%AA%D9%88%D9%82%D9%81-%D8%B3%D8%A7%D8%AE%D8%AA-%D8%B3%D8%B1%DB%8C%D8%A7%D9%84-%D8%B4%D9%87%DB%8C%D8%AF-%D8%B7%D9%87%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86%DB%8C-%D9%85%D9%82%D8%AF%D9%85\">company<\/a> which also publishes books about Ali\u2019s uncle Hassan Tehrani Moqadddam<\/li><li>Board Member of Shohadaye Ghadir Velayat, which is a charity<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mohammad Tehrani Moqaddam<\/strong>, brother of ballistic missile program designer Hassan, is a board member at Sobh Qarib Iranian Foundation and the board chairman of the Shohadaye Ghadir Enqelab Institute. He is the CEO of Shohadaye Ghadir Velayat charity, where his daughter Mahdiyeh is the treasurer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mohammad Tehrani Moqaddam<\/strong> has established a number of companies on Qeshm\u00a0and Kish Islands and in Tehran including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Energy Pazhouhan Kimia Kowsar (Import-Export and trade)<\/li><li>Energy Pazhouhan Aryan Pars Qeshm (electricity, machinery imports)<\/li><li>Energy Pazhouhan Aryan (electricity, trade)<\/li><li>Arghavan Nour Qeshm (producer of tissue paper, sanitary pads, toilet paper)<\/li><li>Pars Electroflow Kish\u00a0 (electric power transmission and distribution)<\/li><li>Sepehr Peyma Kish Helicopters, which has been <a href=\"https:\/\/iranglobal.info\/node\/46258\">accused<\/a> of attempting to bypass sanctions by various opposition groups. The company is involved in renting out helicopters, training pilots, investment and import-export.<\/li><li>Farzanegan Sobh Saeed Trade Co builds helipads and airport runways and is involved in mining, oil, gas &amp; petrochemical pipelines,\u00a0 agriculture, livestock agriculture, other unspecified industrial activities, beauty and personal hygiene products, household appliances, audio visual devices, ship parts, and packaging.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hojjatoleslam Yadollah Habibi<\/strong> is also a Sobh Qarib Iranian Foundation board member. Aside from Habibi, the institute\u2019s board consists of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/persian\/iran\/030312_a-almakaseb.shtml\">Asadollah Amir Aslani<\/a>, a former Bank Melli CEO tried for corruption but mysteriously exonerated in 2003, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mkhk.ir\/fa\/profile\/show?objectid=585\">Reza Motalebi Kashani<\/a>, who is one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mkhk.ir\/fa\/profile?group=founding%20board\">founding members<\/a> of the National Council of Charities, an umbrella NGO comprised of eight family-owned foundations.\u00a0Reza Motalebi Kashani also owns Tak Makaron, one of Iran\u2019s top <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BqxvTJGhqMA\/?hl=en\">pasta brands<\/a> and reportedly played a part in creating a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tabnak.ir\/fa\/news\/894790\/%D9%85%D8%A7%DA%A9%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%88%D9%86%DB%8C-%D9%87%D9%85-%D9%84%D8%A7%DA%A9%DA%86%D8%B1%DB%8C-%D8%B4%D8%AF\"> pasta shortage<\/a> to gouge prices, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eghtesadonline.com\/%D8%A8%D8%AE%D8%B4-%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%B2%D8%B1%DA%AF%D8%A7%D9%86%DB%8C-6\/349368-%D9%85%D8%A7%DA%A9%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%88%D9%86%DB%8C-%D8%AF%D8%B1-%D9%85%D8%B4%D9%87%D8%AF-%D9%84%D8%A7%DA%A9%DA%86%D8%B1%DB%8C-%D8%B4%D8%AF\">Eqhtesad Online<\/a> daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mohsen Aliabadi<\/strong> is a founding member of the Sobh Qarib Iranian Foundation. He is the son of <strong>Mohammad Aliabadi<\/strong>, the former head of the Physical Education Organization of Iran and president of the National Olympics Committee of Iran from 2008 -2014. Mohsen Aliabadi was once implicated in a financial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asriran.com\/fa\/news\/72504\/%D9%BE%D8%B3%D8%B1-%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%8A-%D8%A2%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%8A-%D8%A7%D9%8A%D9%86-%D8%A8%D8%AD%D8%AB-%D9%87%D8%A7-%D8%B3%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%B3%D9%8A-%D9%88-%D8%A7%D9%86%D8%AA%D8%AE%D8%A7%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%AA%D9%8A-%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA\">scanda<\/a>l involving 5 to 20 billion toman ($5-20 million) in missing funds. He also used his father\u2019s position to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asriran.com\/fa\/news\/147891\/%D9%81%D8%B1%D8%B2%D9%86%D8%AF-%D8%B9%D9%84%DB%8C%E2%80%8C%D8%A2%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%AF%DB%8C-%D8%A8%D8%A7-%D8%A2%DB%8C%E2%80%8C%D8%AF%DB%8C-%DA%A9%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%AA-%D9%88-%D8%A7%D8%AA%D9%88%D9%85%D8%A8%DB%8C%D9%84-%D8%AF%D8%B1-%DA%AF%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%86%DA%AF%D8%AC%D9%88\">attend<\/a> the 2010 Asian Games in China with all expenses paid, according to Asr-e Iran newspaper.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mohammad Ebrahim Maddahi<\/strong> is a board member of the Sobh Qarib Iranian Foundation. A psychologist by trade, Maddahi was an MP for Aligoudarz county in Lurestan Province from 1996- 2000. He <a href=\"http:\/\/jamejamonline.ir\/fa\/news\/59889\/%D9%85%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%AD%DB%8C-%D8%B1%D8%A6%DB%8C%D8%B3-%D9%81%D8%AF%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%B3%DB%8C%D9%88%D9%86-%D8%B4%D8%B7%D8%B1%D9%86%D8%AC-%D8%B4%D8%AF\">became<\/a> the head of Chess Federation in 2005.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maddahi was once the <a href=\"http:\/\/iranpa.org\/News\/dr-mohammadebrahim-maddahi-12\">Director General of Inspections<\/a> of the IRGC central command. Maddahi has also held several positions at the <a href=\"https:\/\/tehranbureau.com\/doublethink\/mejles-20\/irgc-founder-rezaei-grips-irans-executive-branch\/\">Expediency Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Seyyed Reza Mirzadeh<\/strong> has been CEO and board chairman of the Sobh Qarib Iranian Foundation. According to his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drmirzade.ir\/%D8%B2%D9%86%D8%AF%DA%AF%DB%8C%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%87.html\">website<\/a>, Mirzadeh has held the following positions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>IRGC commander in Khuzestan<\/li><li>IRGC commander in Ramhormoz<\/li><li>Deputy IRGC commander-in-chief of Khuzestan Province<\/li><li>Head inspector of the Basij forces\u00a0<\/li><li>Deputy of Inspections and Investigations of the IRGC central command\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mirzadeh worked in Venezuela after former President Hugo Chavez asked Ayatollah Khamenei for assistance in organizing popular forces in the country, according to Mirzadeh\u2019s personal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drmirzade.ir\/%D8%B2%D9%86%D8%AF%DA%AF%DB%8C%D9%86%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%87.html\">website<\/a>. There, he helped establish an Islamic center, train \u201cpopular forces\u201d and start a Persian language program at the Bolivarian Military University.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mirzadeh has also held several <a href=\"https:\/\/tehranbureau.com\/doublethink\/mejles-20\/irgc-founder-rezaei-grips-irans-executive-branch\/\">Expediency Council<\/a> positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Yazdan Moayedinia<\/strong> is vice chairman of Sobh Qarib Iranian Foundation. He was the former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magiran.com\/article\/1048841\">commander<\/a> of the Seyyed ol-Shohada Corps\u2019 10th Brigade, a Tehran-based IRGC outfit charged with suppressing civil unrest.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moayeddinia is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mashreghnews.ir\/news\/131050\/%D8%B9%DA%A9%D8%B3-%DB%8C%D8%A7%D8%AF%DA%AF%D8%A7%D8%B1%DB%8C-%DA%98%D9%86%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%84-%D9%87%D8%A7-%D8%A8%D8%A7-%D9%BE%DB%8C%DA%98%D8%A7%D9%85%D9%87\">close friend<\/a> of former IRGC commander-in-chief Mohammad Ali Jafari and served as Jafari\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/old.alef.ir\/vdcdjx0s.yt0sj6a22y.html?3txt\">chief of staff<\/a> from 2007-2019.
